Jurisdiction over the Wolfcreek Cemetery falls under the authority of the Buck Township Board of Trustees. A Caretaker is employed by the Board to carry out and enforce the following rules and regulations and all daily matters concerning the operation of Wolfcreek Cemetery. Correspondence or funeral arrangements may be made directly with the Township Fiscal Officer. The Caretaker works to preserve and improve the beauty, peace and tranquility of the Wolfcreek Cemetery grounds.
BUYING OF LOTS
1) Grave lots may be purchased in Wolfcreek Cemetery from the Buck Township Fiscal Officer by appointment. A receipt of purchase, showing the location and price of the lot is maintained by the Fiscal Officer. A lot deed will be issued by the Fiscal Officer to the lot owner(s) upon receipt of payment.
2) The transfer of the ownership of lots requires a proper notarized affidavit be presented to the Fiscal Officer for filing.
3) Lots shall be used only for purposes of burial. No pets, cars, motorcycles, etc. shall be buried with the deceased. The cemetery board retains all rights above ground as to what may be place on the graves.
4) A cemetery lot (19’) in the newer section consists of five (5) 40” graves. This lot may be divided to permit the purchase of one grave up to five (5) graves at one time.
5. Unused graves may be sold back to the cemetery. They will be purchased at the original sale price as allowed by the Ohio Revised Code
BURIAL AND INTERNMENT
1) A request for burial must be presented to the Fiscal Officer at least forty-eight hours prior to burial.
2) If the requesting individual is not the lot owner or immediate family of the lot owner, permission in writing by notarized affidavit from the lot owner must be presented to the Fiscal Officer before a burial is permitted.
3) All interments will be subjected to certain charges, which must be paid to the Fiscal Officer. A current fee schedule is available from the Township Fiscal Officer.
4) There will be no burials on Sundays or the following holidays: New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
5) Vaults are required for a burial, except in the case of cremation. Only one (1) vault burial may be buried per grave space. Mausoleums are not permitted in the cemetery.
6) Graves will be opened and closed only by employees of the Board of Trustees upon approval of the Township Fiscal Officer.
7) Persons requesting a body be moved from one part of the Cemetery to another must have permission from the Fiscal Officer and will be charged according to the current fee schedule.
8) Children 12 years and older will be buried as Adults. Children 11 years & younger will be buried as a Child.
9) No more than two (2)-cremation burials without a full sized vault burial will be allowed per grave. No more than two cremations are allowed on a grave with a standard size burial, or as space can allow.
CARE OF LOTS
1) Decorations are to be placed on front side of the monument and not to exceed one foot away. (Front is names & dates) Decorations are not to protrude past the sides of the monument, for this may (in some cases) intrude upon someone else's lot. There is to be no landscape gravel or stones, fencing, or masonry pavers placed around the flowerbeds.
2) Trees, shrubs, hedges, rose bushes, or Shepherd Hook style hangers are not permitted. A bush or hedge may be removed if it interferes with a burial, placement of a marker or, other grave space(s) at the discretion of the Caretaker. Those now in existence will be removed if not kept trimmed by the owner.
3) Statues or figurines of large size are prohibited from being placed in the cemetery. Small figurines and toys are discouraged from being placed on graves do to the ease of being stolen or possible damage during mowing.
4) All benches, seats and urns must be maintained by the owner. If they become rusty, unpainted or broken, they may be removed at the Caretaker’s discretion.
5) A water hand pump is located in the cemetery to aid in the watering of plants and flowers. Persons using the pump
should notify the Fiscal Officer /Caretaker in case of damage to the pump.
6) All withered flowers; old bouquets, etc. must be placed in the trashcans provided.
7) Winter wreaths and other decorations must be removed by May 1st for annual clean up and may be replaced with new.
8) Type and placement of trees purchased for the Cemetery will be at the discretion of the Township Trustees.
9) All items placed on graves are at the owners’ own risk. Wolfcreek Cemetery shall not be held responsible for lost, stolen, broken items or, damage to flowers or other plants.
MONUMENTS, VAULTS, ETC.
1) Persons wishing to erect a monument shall seek the permission of the Township Fiscal Officer. Large monuments are not allowed in certain sections of the Cemetery.
2) The foundation for all monuments, markers, stones, etc. will be put in by the Cemetery contractor. A permanent and firm foundation is necessary to allow the monument or marker to remain standing erect over time. Charges for foundations are made through the monument company.
3) Markers must be made of marble or granite. The use of cement or metal is not permitted. Bronze military plaques are permitted. Such markers may either be mounted to the stone or buried at ground level.
4) Markers can only be as wide as the grave(s) for which they are intended.
CONDUCT
1) The Cemetery will be considered open at approximately 8:00 AM and will be close at dark. Gates or roadways may be blocked at various times due to road maintenance, snow removal, weather restrictions, or funeral ceremonies.
2) The playing of games, illicit parking and other improprieties is prohibited.
3) Children shall not be left unattended on the grounds.
4) Littering is prohibited. Trash containers are provided to dispose of refuse.
5) Dogs or other pets will not be allowed in the Cemetery without a leash.
6) Discharging a firearm is not permitted within the Cemetery unless special permission is given by the Caretaker, or for a military funeral.
7) Persons not following the above rules and regulations shall be asked to leave the cemetery grounds.
AUTOMOBILES
1) Motor vehicles shall not be driven through the grounds at a speed greater than 10 miles per hour and must remain on the roads. Snowmobiles and all terrain vehicles are not permitted in the Cemetery.
2) Vehicle horns must not be sounded in the Cemetery. Engines shall be turned off of stopped vehicles.
3) Vehicles are not allowed to turn around upon burial or grassy areas. Vehicles must stay on the roads at all times.
